Schwerin-based Trebing + Himstedt Processautomation GmbH & Co. KG, an international provider of products and services for the optimized utilization of IT in a manufacturing environment, sold its industrial communication portfolio with effect from May 1, 2014. The deal was closed with Softing Industrial Automation GmbH, a subsidiary of Softing AG, located in Haar near Munich. Softing is a leading provider for communication and diagnostics technology worldwide.

The sale was driven by Trebing + Himstedt’s decision to focus their business on manufacturing integration and spur continued growth in that sector. For Softing, on the other hand, the acquired industrial communication operation is an ideal addition to its own portfolio, most notably in the area of network diagnostics.

During this transaction, Trebing + Himstedt Prozessautomation GmbH & Co. KG was advised by TRACC Legal, with attorney Matthias Beer in charge.
