Dr. Thorsten Steinhaus
Dr. Thorsten Steinhaus has been admitted to the bar in Munich since 2001. He studied law at the universities of Munich and Seville. During his traineeship, he worked for law firms in Munich, Madrid, and Buenos Aires. From 2001 to 2003, he earned his ph.D. from the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property and Competition Law, writing a dissertation on copyright while comparing relevant aspects of German and Spanish law. From 2004 to 2013, Dr. Steinhaus worked as an attorney at law at the Schumacher Lotz Rechtsanwälte law firm; in 2011, he became a partner.
Dr. Steinhaus is fluent in German, English, and Spanish. He is a member of GRUR (German Association for the Protection of Industrial Property and Copyright), of DSJV (the German-Spanish Association of Lawyers), and the official Spanish Chamber of Commerce for Germany.
The majority of Dr. Steinhaus’ assignments involve business transactions, intellectual property protection and competition law, consultation and contract design in the field of private and commercial law, and the representation of clients in court and arbitration proceedings in the aforementioned areas.
